DIYguru & ev.care presents India’s first comprehensive 3-week Summer Training & Internship Program on 4-Wheeler Electric Vehicles, designed in close alignment with Mahindra EV platforms. This program offers a unique opportunity for engineering students and professionals to gain hands-on experience and deep technical knowledge in the fast-evolving field of electric mobility.
Over the course of 80 industry-focused hours, participants will undergo rigorous training that spans all critical subsystems of a 4-wheeler EV. The curriculum is divided into seven technical modules, covering everything from electric vehicle architecture and battery pack construction to motor control, power electronics, CAN communication, diagnostics, and system-level integration.
Besides, participants will gain hands-on exposure through live demonstrations, simulations, and real-vehicle analysis, ensuring they acquire practical, industry-relevant skills.
Designed for students and professionals aiming to build a career in the EV industry or the repair and maintenance sector, the program emphasizes real-world experience. By the end of the program, participants will have acquired practical knowledge, domain expertise, and career-readiness, positioning them for success in the evolving electric vehicle industry.

Course Curriculum
Day 1-3: Module 1 – EV System Architecture & Safety Protocol

Introduction to the overall layout of a four-wheeler EV: powertrain, battery, controller, motor

Cover safety standards, high-voltage system precautions, PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), and isolation procedures.

Practical: Identify orange high-voltage cables, understand shutdown circuits, and practice safe disconnects
Day 4-7: Module 2 – Battery Pack Construction & Management

Dive into battery chemistry, cell formats (prismatic, cylindrical), and pack design principles

Introduction to Battery Management System (BMS): cell balancing, temperature monitoring, SOC, SOH.

Practical: Simulate battery pack wiring, measure voltages, check temperature sensors and connectors
Day 7-10: Module 3 – Electric Motor & Inverter Control

Learn different motor types used in EVs (BLDC, PMSM, induction) and why they’re selected

Day 18-20: Module 7 – EV Walkthrough & Live Demonstration

DIY Projects Included
The 21-day workshop combines live demonstrations, simulations, and real-vehicle analysis to ensure hands-on, industry-relevant skill development.
Participants will gain hands-on experience with high-voltage electrical systems, including safety procedures, wiring simulations, and sensor diagnostics. They will then engage in practical tasks such as monitoring motor performance, diagnosing inverter feedback, performing AC charging, and using public charging stations. Additionally, participants will work with CAN software to analyze live vehicle data, diagnose common faults, and resolve error codes. To consolidate their learning, an optional hands-on driving or test bench session allows them to apply the theory in a real-world setting.
